Grandma’s Recipes

Grandma’s Recipes was published in 2003.

This cookbook was put together using the recipes our four grandmothers had collected over their lifetimes.

The recipes are all from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. The ingredients included would be only things that our grandmother’s had available during those years. We have said the recipes in this cookbook are more basic than The Basics and More Cookbook and more practical than The
Practical Produce Cookbook.

Each of the divider pages has a sample of an old-time recipe on it to give the reader a glimpse of what cooking was like before 1900.

Grandma’s Recipes has over 700 recipes on 281 pages.

In the back of the book there is a brief biographical sketch of our four grandmother’s. Each of the four was born and raised in a Mennonite home and passed their faith and the art of cooking on to their children and grandchildren. Grandma Horst is Lydia in the Bart and Lydia book.

Like all of our cookbooks, Grandma’s Recipes comes with a flexible spiral binding which allows the book to like flat on the counter while in use.
